Hi, Welcome To My Blog

I love various different types of crafts and have had a dabble at most over the years, some with greater success than others. I believe that apart from loving and giving, being creative is the next most important thing to do. There is something about being creative that taps into something deep within us that makes us feel good with the world. But then we were made in the image of God, God The Creator... so I guess being creative will be second nature to us if we allow. The problem is that many people will not have a go because they make the mistake of measuring themselves against others... and that is just not a good thing to do. I create because I like to create, not because I have to impress anyone else or be better than anyone else. I created this blog with a lot of help from my son-in-law, as a personal scrap book that I am happy to share with others if they wish to take a look.... Enjoy <><

Muffin Cake Birthday Card

The shape for this muffin cake came from a friend's daughter's birthday card that I 'scrounged' from her because she was going to throw it away.  I have used it as a template a few times to make a quick card in a whole host of different colours.

Today's cake was determined by some of the materials I had to hand.

The green card at the bottom was part of my mother's day gift box, the cardboard bow came off the card my daughter bought me, and the diamante off something else.

I had to laugh... when my daughter gave me the box and card she said, "I expect you will be able to make something out of these when you have finished with them" ha ha... she know me well I think!

I thought this card was bright a cheerful.

Butterfly Birthday Card

I know this card is not dynamic, but what I like about it is that it was made from recycled items.

The flowery card was part of a lovely gift box from John Lewis that my mother's day gift came in.

The pink butterfly was off a greetings card I had received, and used little diamante from something else.  The cream butterfly was one I made myself just to have a play with the new die cutter I had bought some time ago and not used.

I don't always have time to spend lots of it making cards, and so this quick simple one was just the ticket for a week in which I need to produce three.
