Hi, Welcome To My Blog

I love various different types of crafts and have had a dabble at most over the years, some with greater success than others. I believe that apart from loving and giving, being creative is the next most important thing to do. There is something about being creative that taps into something deep within us that makes us feel good with the world. But then we were made in the image of God, God The Creator... so I guess being creative will be second nature to us if we allow. The problem is that many people will not have a go because they make the mistake of measuring themselves against others... and that is just not a good thing to do. I create because I like to create, not because I have to impress anyone else or be better than anyone else. I created this blog with a lot of help from my son-in-law, as a personal scrap book that I am happy to share with others if they wish to take a look.... Enjoy <><

Elsa's Birth Card

Our lovely friends Mary and Michael have become grandparents again to a most beautiful granddaughter, who will be sister to Rory. This is the card I made to send to the parents to congratulate them.

Pulling together many different elements from different places, I made this VERY pink card because  I love pink for girls and well remember wanting everything pink when I had a baby girl myself so it does tend to be a dominant factor for me when planning birth cards for little girls.

We wish you a good life Elsa.

3-D Garden Gate Birthday Card

This 3-D card came about when Chris gave me some lovely card with flowers and butterflies on it, and Sue (with a little persuasion from me) bought the fabulous Memory Box gate and fence die cutters.

I set about thinking of the best way I could use these materials to make a birthday card for Fiona.

I had great fun cutting/pressing out the various elements and the skill came really in arranging it correctly. I think I managed that okay.

To support the delicate gate and fence, I used acetate, a clever idea suggested by Sue.

The most important thing was that Fiona was delighted with it.
