Hi, Welcome To My Blog

I love various different types of crafts and have had a dabble at most over the years, some with greater success than others. I believe that apart from loving and giving, being creative is the next most important thing to do. There is something about being creative that taps into something deep within us that makes us feel good with the world. But then we were made in the image of God, God The Creator... so I guess being creative will be second nature to us if we allow. The problem is that many people will not have a go because they make the mistake of measuring themselves against others... and that is just not a good thing to do. I create because I like to create, not because I have to impress anyone else or be better than anyone else. I created this blog with a lot of help from my son-in-law, as a personal scrap book that I am happy to share with others if they wish to take a look.... Enjoy <><

Merry Monday Christmas Song Challenge, Mistletoe & Wine

My Merry Monday Challenge was made all the more of a challenge when my husband decided he was going to choose the song I had to depict in the card. As you can imagine he didn't suggest the easiest song out of the book!
He went for Cliff Richards Mistletoe and Wine Christmas song which for those of you who aren't familiar with it and are wondering what this card is all about, the words go something like this:-

A Child is a King
The Carollers Sing
The old is past there's a new beginning
Dreams of Santa
Dreams of Snow
Fingers numb
Faces aglow

Christmas time, Mistletoe and Wine.... and later on....
Love and laughter and joy ever after, ours for the taking just follow the Master..

I did not have enough stamps or die cuts suitable for this card so had to resort to the computer.  Wanting to avoid the pitfalls of breaching copyright and not having enough time to email people to ask for permission as I do, I had to just use the clip art already installed on my laptop... not the best of images, but hey ho. it's a bit of fun at the end of the day.

I printed a vinyl disc picture as my base, created a record label for the centre and then mounted images of the key points in the first verse of the song, which I mounted on sparkly gold card.

I topped this off by cutting the card the shape of the record leaving the text bar at the bottom for stability.

I know a mad crazy Cliff fan who will really enjoy receiving this Christmas card, albeit rather over the top!

    1. Thank you Betty... It wasn't actual vinyl, just a paper copy of one... I wasn't sure if you realised that.

  5. Info from Wikipeadia....."Richard's ninety-ninth single, it became his twelfth UK number one single, spending four weeks at the top in December 1988 - selling 750,000 copies in the process. It was the best-selling single of 1988 in the United Kingdom. In December 2007 the single entered at number 68 on the UK Singles Chart by virtue of downloads.

One of the record breaking statistics often cited about Cliff Richard is his achievement of number one hit singles in five consecutive decades."

Cliff Richard is probably one of our most successful singers, converted to Christianity through listening to Billy Graham. I think he now lives in USA. He produced so many many albums.

    1. Kate I used to be a real fan of Cliff's years ago, and went to a few concerts. Funnily enough I checked it out on YouTube again... There are more than a few options of accompanying video's and artists.

    1. In his younger days I loved him singing 'The Young Ones', then years later I particularly liked, It's so funny how we don't talk anymore'. She's just a devil woman" and congratulations. Cliff had his musical ears and eyes turned by Elvis Presley who proved to be quite a role model for him. In Britain people often leaned to preferring Elvis or Cliff. Both into rock and roll genre, they carried it off in different ways.
